Psychiatric Treatment

At VIGILANCE we follow the combined treatment which is the most common mode of psychiatric treatment. Also we do contemporary practice which includes a wide variety of other modalities. Treatment are given to the patients who are required an Acute Care on an inpatient basis and the patients who are with the moderate symptons are treated on an outpatient basis.

Research and treatment within psychiatry as a whole are conducted on an interdisciplinary basis, e.g., with epidemiologists, mental health counselors, nurses, psychologists, public health specialists, radiologists, and/or social workers.

Our treatment procedures are as follows

Psychiatric Assessments

Initial psychiatric assessment of a person typically begins with a case history and mental status examination.

Physical Examinations.

We do Physical examinations through various Medical and Lab Tests.

Psychological Tests

Psychological tests are conducted by using Neuroimaging or other neurophysiological techniques.

Diagnosis

Mental disorders are often diagnosed in accordance with criteria listed in diagnostic manuals such as the widely used Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM), published by the American Psychiatric Association (APA), and the International Classification of Diseases (ICD), edited and used by the World Health Organization (WHO). The fifth edition of the DSM (DSM-5) was published in 2013.

Medications

Patients are prescribed and treated with the Psychiatry Medicines based on the Assessment done by our Psycho Therapists and the Diagnosis by our Psychiatrist.

Psycho Education and Counseling

Psycho education and Counseling given by experienced Psychologists and Social Workers to the Patients and the Family Members to understand and cope up with the disease.

Therapies

Several kinds of supportive therapies such as Occupational Therapy, Art Therapy, Music Therapy, Yoga and Meditations, etc..., are given to the patients.

After Care Treatment

Patients, who required long term care, are encouraged and advised to visit our centre for regular follow-ups to sustain their recovery. Our trained Social workers and counselors are dedicated to maintain a continuous record of the Updated history.
